Aimed at women of all ages who enjoy the laidback, stress-free, casual lifestyle, this brand uses light cotton material, a fusion of bright and pastel colours reflecting the surf and vibrant sunsets, and ‘soft to touch’ fabrics, ideal for layering and creating casual or smarter styles.
Their mutual interest in lightweight clothing and rainbow colours enabled the designers to develop a chic casual clothing line perfect for hanging out at the beach, shopping, or sunset cocktails. Sexy, but comfortable, the clothes were inspired by cultural icons including Raquel Welch, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Natalie Wood.
The inspiration from this brand came from two young friends who lived in Southern California. Cheyann Benedict and Claire Stansfield grew up in the 1970’s amongst the Californian surf and beach scene and over the years they noticed the fashion market was still lacking any style which reflected their laidback lifestyle and generation of this relaxed era.
The key effect of this clothing line is that every item is designed to match another item, complimenting the colours, styles and creating an individual combination of style. C & C California have expanded their range since the launch of the brand in 2003. The clothing line now consists of dresses, active inspired sportswear, sweatshirts, loungewear, organic fabrics, and now a children’s and men’s collection.
