B > Ben Sherman

In 1963, the Ben Sherman button down collar shirt made its debut appearance. The brand was born and now, decades on, the clothing line is as popular as ever all over the world.
Brighton born, Arthur Benjamin Sugarman changed his name to Ben Sherman after emigrating to America in 1946 and after a succession of wives, he soon learnt all about the garment trade from his third wife’s father. In 1962, after his mother fell ill, Ben moved back to the UK and a year later he bought a concourse shirt factory. With help from his fourth wife, the empire began and the clothing line became evidently popular amongst celebrities and musicians generating global success.
Despite the passing of Ben Sherman in 1987, the brand still continues to remain one of the largest casual wear brands in the UK and is sold on the high street along with specialist stores.
Catering for men, women, youths, and children, the casual clothing line includes shirts with unusual and intricate designs, jackets, jeans, shorts, knitwear, dresses, hats, bags, and accessories.
