The Baby Phat clothing line first came onto the fashion scene when tiny t-shirts were produced with ‘Baby Phat’ printed across, and worn in a Phat Farm runway show. Once celebrities and supermodels spotted these cute tees, they became a phenomenon and the start of a brand new urban and sassy hip hop clothing range for women.
In 1998 international supermodel, Kimora Lee Simons, was considered the perfect choice to kick-start the range by creating the denim label and represent Baby Phat, uniting hip hop and women’s fashion and creating a blend of urban glamour and elegance. A model for the House of Chanel at the age of just thirteen, and now a successful businesswoman and mother, Kimora is the perfect role model for modern women demonstrating how easy it is to look sexy, trendy, and professional.
